Apr.30,2011Why does Mike Geary, author of the Truth About Abs system, believe that you are just wasting your time with workouts using Elliptical machines or Treadmills? He indicates that there are a plethora of more effective exercise methods that are actually fun in the process. In addition, he has compiled a list of home gym equipment that actually ends up being cheaper than treadmills and elliptical machines.
Mike’s primary reason for detesting these types of workouts is that, essentially, they end up becoming boring and, therefore, all the joy will drain from your workouts. In effect, if you lose the joy, you will have a more difficult time keeping up with any exercise program. Another reason why he hates these machines include that when you do any mindless steady exercise (i.e. zoning out while watching TV) you create a mind/body disconnection that actually results in poor results from your diligence in exercising. In addition, these types of machines are completely ineffective because there are a plethora of more interesting forms that actually stimulate more fat-burning hormonal responses.
